Thanks, I tried it again and got all three endings. I got the first two on my own, then when I saw the name of the third ending in the response form that was enough of a clue to try something different.
Really love this demo! Will definitely be wishlisting the full release. I do have one question (spoilers):
After decoding the message from day 3(TODAY WE ATTACK INKORP, YOUR COOPERATION IS NEEDED. ENCRYPT THIS: THE SERVER KEY IS ODL9SY2. THEN, SEND TO OUR LEAKS EXPERT. NEEDS TO BE DECRYPTABLE WITH DISPLACEMENT + KEY 7. AFTER, AWAIT FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS.), I couldn't figure out who to send it to. Or, if I was sending it to the right person, I didn't know what the subject of the message should've been.
Great game but the time limit really ruins it for me. Dont like to miss out of stuff because i feel rushed or cant read fast, and cant do columns well. Its fun, and some games benefit from a sense of urgency, i dont think this is one of those game.
Thanks for playing eevan! The time pressure has a purpose that will be aparent in the complete game but not in the demo, so it's completely normal for you to feel rushed. I'm also working on a way to make the decryption instructions more visual and clear. Your feedback is very important to improve the game, so please fill out the survey (forms.gle/K6U5xWF365dbkfMu6) if you can!
Got it. Excited to see what that is. I'll gladly fill out the form when I complete it. It could be nice to have a log of successfully decrypted messages. I generally don't like to tell people what to do, but the lore seems interesting, and i want to read every message, but for someone with dyslexia and slow reading comprehension, i feel like i don't fully understand what the decrypted messages are saying as i feel pressured to move on. That being said, I do really like this concept. It kinda gives me papers please vibs which is one of my personal GOAT games.
Heyo, I made an account on itch.io just to comment on this.
First of all, I've loved the game. It was a lot of fun and the sound design in particular was a delight for me. I've filled out the survey as well. I'll go wishlist it on Steam right away and await the day it becomes available.
My only gripe is that I've gone slightly insane trying to figure out how to decode a certain message you get on day 3. I've restarted the day about 30 times now, and only twice has it been easily decodable via Scytale. All the other times, I got a result that is semi-coherent but won't trigger the inbox message. Am I just doing it wrong, or do I need to first use one system and then another to get the full message?
Hi! Sorry for this. Yes, there is a problem with messages that are too long to fit in the decrypt apps after being encrypted. I'm still thinking about the best possible solution. I had implemented a temporary workaround but it seems that it was not enough in your case. Thanks for pointing it out, and I'm glad you enjoyed the rest of the game!
Edit: I would love to ask you some information about the problem you encountered. If you could reach me at slothjam.contact@gmail.com I'd really appreciate it!

Hi 12c, thanks for this comment! I'm sorry, a last-minute change caused some errors. A new version is uploaded, you can try it again if you want.

Search the "leak expert" in the same place you got the clue to decypher this. Or, you ask your virtual assistant for help with this message.

Of course, Papers Please is one of the main sources of inspiration for this game.

Really good! I'm interested to see how the game will be in the future!
Thanks! If you want, you can wishlist the game on steam to be notified when the game launches
I really loved this! Wishlisted and filled in the survey and I can't wait for more!
Thank you!! The survey is very important to improve the final game
